If It Makes You Happy

My husband is so adorable sometimes. He has been coveting these shoes for months and was finally able to purchase them today.

It totally cracks me up as normally he could care less about
clothes or shoes (I know, most men) but these just tugged at his heartstrings.
Then later today when I found these awesome grey, pinstriped, khaki pants at the Gap for him to wear to our friend's Jamaican wedding, for $11.99 no less, I was so thrilled that I called him immediately. He said, "OK" and then, after giving it some thought, followed it up with an enthusiastic "I can try them on with my new shoes!"
Gotta love it.

Worth The Wait

My dear friend A. accidentally deleted her original blog on Monday. I was without the joy of reading it for several days and I'm so relieved she is back in action.
Be sure to check out her 'new' one here.

Hurts So Good

On Saturday night I went to a bachelorette party in Philly which was a lot of fun.

I spent much of the night dancing in high heels which at the time seemed like a great idea. That rolled into Sunday where John and I worked like dogs in our yard. It's both a blessing and a curse to have flower beds and lots of grass. I started pulling weeds and couldn't stop until it was done, hence working my leg and back muscles even more than Saturday night. It felt great to be getting stuff done, but last night I was grouchy and sore. Just goes to show you how little I'm normally working out. Perhaps next time I should pace myself.

Missed Opportunity

My brother Matt is home in AZ this weekend visiting my family from LA. I wish more than anything that I could be there. If I could have one super power, it would be the ability to blink myself places like on I Dream of Jeanie. I want to be able to see my family all at once so bad. It's such a rarity these days and I find myself longing for it.

What's Next?

I need some help trying to understand this 'new' trend...

I just don't get the whole jazzercise  headband look.  I love a good hair accessory, don't get me wrong, but warn on top of your head, not across the front of it. It just looks so funny.

Sad But True

When I was little we had a rabbit as one of our family pets. His name was Alfred and I was devastated when one day, while he innocently laid in the sun, he was killed by a neighborhood cat in our yard.

Fast forward to today and apparently we have a family of rabbits living under our deck. We've noticed the small hole in the lattice but never thought much of it until Friday. That's when we were leaving for dinner and John caught Duke with a bunny in his mouth. Uh-huh. If it was I that saw this, rest assured I would have been traumatized.
The rest of the weekend I was having a hard time even looking at Duke, but that was until we lost sight of him in the yard today only to find him once again dragging a poor defenseless rabbit out from under it's 'safe' haven. He then received a long bath and is moping around the house because we yelled at him, having no clue as to what he did wrong. He is going to be under strict watch when we are outside until John and I can tackle the lattice issue when we re-stain the deck in a few weeks. But my baby dog is now a baby bunny hunter and I'm totally grossed out by it. Still, I guess he is just a dog after all. John did rescue him from some hick country SPCA so this side was bound to come out. I just kinda wish it hadn't.

Easter Cheer

I think Easter is a really nice holiday. It's low pressure, similar to Thanksgiving, but without Christmas looming in the background and the weather is typically nicer.
Yesterday we spent a fun day at my Aunt Donna's house. I'd venture a guess and say there were close to 45 of us there (my dad's side of the family is gigantic; we were even missing a few members). As usual, there was a tasty meal, though more desserts than regular food. That's just how we do it. I brought this chocolate bundt cake, which I must say was some of the better baking I've done...

Here are some more photos from the day...

My cousin Carolyn's dog Bowie. She's a girl but without the dress you would never know.

My cousin Olivia and I standing out for the camera.

Some of the ladies of our family and I before dinner.

John and I.

I hope everyone had an equally wonderful day with family and friends!

FYI

Hands down this is the wackiest wedding movie I have ever seen.

Destination, Boston

Yesterday we decided to take our summer trip to Boston. It's a city John visited once as a child and me, never. Plus, it's just a 5 hour drive if we take that route or a quick flight. I hear there are lots of fun things to do so anyone with suggestions please let me know. We are staying in the financial district in a cute, budget friendly hotel near the train. I think it will be nice in the summer and I'm definitely looking forward to another long weekend away.
