My Take On Movies

Another year, another victory for me in the husband vs. wife Oscar pool. I would have had more wins if I didn't try to jazz it up with some potential upsets. The main winners were pretty obvious. Some I agreed with (Jeff Bridges) and others I did not (Sandra Bullock). The movies over the last year were just like the red carpet dresses last night...eh. While there were stand out good ones like The Hurt Locker, Up In The Air, Crazy Heart and Up, I left the couch or the movie theater over the last several months sort of unimpressed by the ones I was supposed to be really amped up about (i.e. Inglorious Basterds, A Serious Man). Many of the performances were top notch, but the movies themselves just needed something more in my opinion, like story wise (Avatar) or less cheese (The Blind Side).

We always enjoy watching things unfold over the months leading up to Oscar season and 2010 will be no different. On with the show!
