Mom's the Word

The last few weeks have been a little stressful as we still battle baby's sleeping patterns and John and I try to juggle work and family, but Sunday we took a much needed time-out and spent it just the three of us, celebrating my first Mother's Day.
We did exactly what I had hoped, spent the day outside, enjoying the nice weather together. Natalie spent a large portion of it like this in her stroller...

but I'm pretty sure she had a good time. We walked around the Morris Arboretum, a very vast, very beautiful place with so many lovely flowers, trees, sculptures and gardens to enjoy. Many families were there picnicking and I can't wait to go back and do that sometime when Natalie is a bit bigger.

Sometimes I still can't believe that I'm someone's mother, or more simply, that I got lucky enough to be Natalie's. I admire so many women who have taught me tons about what it means to be a good Mom, especially my own. I hope to spend Mother's Day in the future continuing to reflect on how special a gift motherhood is and how grateful I am to be blessed with such a wonderful family.

Nat's hat is so cute!

Glad you had such a wonderful day with John and the baby -- you deserve it.
