On Friday I returned from a long week in New Orleans. The city itself is really small, but definitely unique and the people couldn't have been nicer. I tried some new foods like fried oysters and jambalaya and even found myself liking them. I was more than relieved when the plane touched down in Philly, though. It's hard on me being away that long.
We marched right into the weekend by celebrating my cousin Olivia's 30th birthday at Jolly's, a dueling piano bar in Philadelphia, yesterday night. I definitely wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a great time. The place had a fun energy to it as the crowd of people sang along to old, familiar tunes. After a few too many glasses of wine, I spent the last part of the evening on the stage near one of the pianos singing and dancing without a care in the world. Today I'm nursing a mean hangover, but it was all in the name of fun and nobody deserves a great birthday bash as much as Olivia. I'm just happy I was there to enjoy all the festivities. Just another reason it's always good to be home.

Glad your work trip was better than expected! Also glad you made it home safe and sound.
Oh, and I love your top (dress?)! Where did you get it?
