Chicken

Question: Why do women find it necessary to tell their labor stories to someone who has not yet delivered their first child?
I find this to be horrific considering that, unless I ask, it's probably not something I want to discuss. Especially with virtual strangers, yet it happens to me weekly.
These kinds of things don't prepare me for labor, they just keep me up at night with a reel of worse case scenarios going through my head. Combine that with the hospital pre-registration forms that I had to have filled out 4 months in advance (I pushed it to 3) and you have a recipe for an anxiety attack. Yesterday, right around the time I was reading about the risks involved with anesthesia and how I need to remain completely still while they administer and epidural as to not cause me to be potentially paralyzed, I called John in a tizzy. I think he may have laughed at me, so then I used it as a time to ask him if he would be considered my next of kin, another box I had to fill in.
Man oh man...

You'll be A-OK, my friend. Thousands of women do it every single day.

But, I agree with you: I don't now, nor do I ever, want to know the details.

You are too funny! I was actually the exact opposite and wanted to know everything about it! But all of my friends were too kind and told me it was going to be super-easy...HA! (in all honesty though, Ali was a bit rough, but Kate was extremely easy-the epidural made a WORLD of a difference, and it's not that hard to stay that still) haha :) Maybe I should send some of my friends your contact info :) haha!
