And Baby Makes Three

On Thursday, December 9th, John had just walked in the door from work and I was laying on the couch with my Mom catching up on some DVR'd episodes of Oprah while awaiting my inducement appointment that evening, when the unexpected happened...my water broke.
I remember I couldn't stop laughing at the irony as they frantically began getting all of our hospital things together and we raced out the door. After fourteen hours of tough labor, baby still wasn't fully dropping, so I ultimately ended up having a c-section. It was all totally worth it though, when our Natalie Clare was finally born on Friday, 12-10-10.
The last few weeks have been such a joy as we continue to be in such awe of this child that we created. We have had some challenges adjusting to the intense breastfeeding schedule, lack of sleep and just figuring out how all things baby work, but in the end it all boils down to doing any and everything we can to make her happy.

This Christmas I will never forget all the love we have felt from family and friends and how wonderful it has been to have my siblings and parents here to share in this first Christmas with Natalie. I'm super emotional as I mentally log all the little moments they have with her, too. I don't think we could have imagined such an incredible gift like this.
